Thanks for quick response, IRC

I would like to thank the executive management of IRC for responding positively (“All IRC officers are qualified”, The National, Aug 12) to my letter “IRC goes hi-tech, forgets human element” (The National, Aug 9).
Just to put the record straight, IRC officers are qualified and assisted me in Lae.
But they were not in any position to give me a GST statement of account because the statement only comes from Port Moresby. 
When I asked the Lae office to help me, they gave me several numbers to call but I was not able to get through.
They encouraged me to keep on dialling the same numbers because that was the only way to get through to Port Moresby.
Even the officers in Lae had to do that themselves! 
Anyway, we are passed that now.
And now that we have been given some new numbers, email addresses and even mobile numbers, desperate taxpayers should be able to get through to the IRC.
We can now look forward to dealing directing with the officers.
