The people’s mouth piece

Letters

SEEMS Catholic church is the only the mouth piece of the people of this beautiful country of ours
They have also done a wonderful job in serving the rural population with health and education services over time ever since Europeans set foot on our shores.
Selection of teaching staff has always been done by the church education division but lately politics has involved in appointments where incompetent people have been appointed to positions that has really dropped the standard of education in many well run catholic institutions.
It is now time that the church operate its own education system or give all the education institutions back to the government and they will really make a mess out of it.
The TFF policy will never work in Papua New Guinea because of the corrupt deals that are practiced by the leaders.
Even if they fund TFF we will still miss out on health services like right now.
Does this country have any organisations there to talk on behalf of the people when the very people who we have elected into parliament are all interested in themselves, filling their pockets with as much as they can whilst they are there for the short stint because they went in using all the illegal tricks under the sun to set in that chair.
We have trade unions, NGOs, student bodies, transparency international etc.
Is PNG a democratic country anymore?
