THIEVES ransacked an office belonging to the Task Force Sweep, stealing laptop computers and files, according to chairman Sam Koim.
He told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that his staff were still trying to determine what had been
stolen.
It is believed that 20 men tied up three security guards and broke through a heavy steel gate to get to Task Force Sweep’s administration office.
The office was left trashed with paper strewn everywhere and drawers emptied onto the floor, according to the ABC report.
Koim said some laptops and investigation files were taken but the break-in would not deter his officers.
“This is not going to discourage us. No-one will intimidate us,” he said.
Taskforce Sweep’s investigations have led to the arrests of politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen in the past 18 months.
