THIRTEEN youths from training provider PNG Life Education Institute are on job training with Panamex Pacific PNG Ltd for six weeks in Port Moresby.
Panamex Pacific PNG Ltd Southern region sales supervisor Kathy Kereng said the youths would spend three weeks on the field and another three weeks in the office.
She said the company has been providing on-the-job training for some of the business colleges in Port Moresby and hoped to employ some of the trainees.
The trainees will do merchandising, promotions and stock-taking out on the field.
“It is basically whatever sales people do.
“In the office, it is anything to do with the office like invoicing and customer service.
“From there we look at their experiences and if we have chances available, we will select from the team the best trainees that we have,” Kereng said.
“We train them for three weeks and we employ them based on their performances, dress code, punctuality and all other requirements.”
She said the company would also provide references for the trainees.
Principal Director of PNG Life Education Institute Rai Gini said this arrangement was the institute’s objective of empowering youths to be employable in the market.
