THIRTY-eight entrepreneurs have received financial literacy certificates in Port Moresby organised by Pacifund, a financial brokage and advisory firm, after attending a two-day training.
The participants where from informal sector operators to established small businesses in different industries such as honey production, fashion and construction.
Chief executive officer Desmond Yaninen, who facilitated the training, said it was aimed to ensure participants were financially literate, and also gave them an inside look of how banks assessed loan applications and what borrowers had to do to qualify for funding.
Yaninen said the participants gave positive feedback that the training had inspired and motivated them and was informative and engaging.
“The participants were also able to learn from each other and were given the opportunity to market their SMEs,” he said.
