Thousands attend public workshop
MORE than 6000 people attended a public workshop based on social issues, law and order, economic issues and education in Southern Highlands.
The week-long workshop was conducted in the hotspots of the province’s five districts by the Unitech Southern Highlands Students’ Association (USHSA).
The workshop was mainly on education as the students saw that the province needed more educated people in order to lower the level of illiteracy and improve the standards of living for the people in the province.
“We really need to change our mindsets in the way we see things so that changes can happen in our province,” USHSA president Jonathan Urap said. “This will be a continuous activity and I would like to invite all the other institutes to participate with us for the good of our people and our future,” Urap said.
The Unitech students were grateful for the support they received in cash and kind from the general public and businesses.
