Three more health workers in Northern test positive

NORTHERN administrator Trevor Magei says three Popondetta General Hospital employees have tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) on Friday.
“This has doubled the total cases of hospital staff from three to six to date,” he added.
Magei said the province registered four new Covid-19 cases on Friday raising its total infection to seven.
“The other positive case was a Higaturu Oil Palm employee,” he said.
“The Covid-19 response team has moved in to isolate the three health authority employees while the Higaturu management had executed their measures.
“All provincial administration staff are to be tested to help the authorities determine the status of infections.
“I urge all national agencies to allow their employees to be tested.”
“This includes business houses and most of all, the public.
“We cannot be ignorant and allow it to get out of hand.”
Magei said there was no doubt the numbers would continue to rise and that “everyone in the province must take the responsibility to get tested”.
“Everyone is vulnerable and your safety and the safety of others is at stake,” he said.
“This must now be everyone’s priority to get tested.
“Over time, ignorance has become a norm and a part of life in our society that has crippled our lifestyle and progress.
“Take hold of the situation and change its course or we will be exposed to great danger.
“Our socio-economic development agendas will then go down the drain if we are ignorant of our health.”
