MORESBY West Jokers Basketball Club franchise owner Konio Aila Polo has picked three players to attend six weeks of training with the Cairns Taipans in Australia early next year.
Aila Polo, an Australian citizen who lives in Cairns, has an understanding with the Cairns Basketball Incorporate, a feeder club to the Cairns Taipans.
Polo confirmed captain Harold Elavo his younger brother Joe, and Chatter Aila Polo would undergo basic coaching and refereeing with Cairns Taipans head coach and Cairns Basketball Inc chief executive officer, David Herbert.
“I have invited Herbert to come to Port Moresby to conduct five days of training for the Jokers and there is an open invitation for school children to attend,” she said.
Polo said the club was training its senior players to be better coaches and for juniors to gain exposure.
