FONE Haus general manager Damian Ames says the demand for smart phones continues to rise in the country.
“We have, therefore arranged our brand ambassador and rugby league legend Johnathan Thurston (JT) to visit Fone Haus branches in Port Moresby on Monday and Tuesday,” he added.
Ames said its 19th Fone Haus shop would be opened at the new Range View shopping mall later this month.
“JT will be visiting all of our Fone Haus shops in Port Moresby as well as two of our charity partners of Fone Haus to donate goods and visit an orphanage.
“Also, five lucky people in Port Moresby will get to meet JT in person at one of our shops and get their photo with JT.
“To enter, you need to visit our Fone Haus Facebook page and enter. This will be a once in a lifetime chance for five lucky people. We do hope to get JT to visit PNG again later.
“We also hope to take him to other regions in Papua New Guinea,” he added.
Ames said phone sales continued to increase at Fone Haus every month due to the great new phones from Samsung, Motorola, iPhone and Mintt that were arriving weekly.
“This includes the Samsung S22 new models, Motorola E7 and new Mintt phones,” he added.
He said with the launch of Vodafone, there was no impact on its sales.
“The Vodafone shops are only carrying a small range of phones to sell and they are locked to the Vodafone network.
“So while many people are getting the free Vodafone sim cards on offer, not many people are buying Vodafone phones.
“Fone Haus has more than 120 phones available compared to Vodafone with about eight phones. While nearly most of the phones we sell in our Fone Haus shops will work on the new Vodafone network, we do not expect any slowdown in sales. Fone Haus has some super exciting promotions in May.”
