Tickets out for NRL trial

THIS month’s National Rugby League preseason trial match in Port Moresby will feature a full strength Canterbury Bulldogs side with the likes of captain Josh Jackson, Will Hopoate, Dylan Napa, Aiden Tolman and Corey Harawira-Naera named in the squad.
The Bulldogs are set to face a Cronulla Sharks outfit devoid of its big names save for star back Josh Dugan. The bulk of coach John Morris’ squad is made up of first graders and members of its NSW Cup side.
The Sharks will lose some bite without marquee players in Andrew Fifita, Shaun Johnson, Matt Moylan and Josh Morris.
PNG Rugby Football League operations manager Chris Topa said both the Bulldogs and the Sharks were schedule to arrive on Feb 20 — two days early to take up several community and school engagement programmes organised by the PNGRFL and NRL.
National Football Stadium general manager Lee Pokarop announced the launch of ticket sales yesterday with prices for the grand stand — K120 for the main stand and K80 for the wings. K50 for eastern stand and both the northern and southern stands will be K30.
Pokarop said the early announcement of the ticket sales would give fans enough time to get their tickets for the double header which will also feature the SP PNG Hunters in their first trail against the Central Queensland Capras.

  • As a Rugby League fan I am making this serious concern and I believe and hope this message somehow reach the attention of organizers of PNGRFL and ticket vendors that there is a very high probability that individuals will be buying in bulk to do black market hence, it would be fare if one individual is not allowed to buy more than two tickets so that at least everyone gets the chance to watch the match.
