FORMER Minister for National Planning Paul Tiensten’s case before the Waigani Committal Court, on allegations of misconduct in office and misappropriation, has been adjourned to March 12.
His lawyer, Arnold Amet Jnr, said he needed more time to check police files if there was sufficient evidence to proceed with the case.
He said he needed the additional time to complete his formal submissions to the court.
Tiensten, the member of parliament for Pomio, has been implicated in the release of K10 million to businessman, Eremas Wartoto.
He appeared for the mention of the allegations on Feb 15.
The case returned to court yesterday.
All criminal matters before the Waigani committal court were yesterday deferred to today.
There was no police prosecuting officer available to handle the cases before Magistrate Cosmas Bidar.
