THE Lae Snax Tigers are determined to rebound to winning ways when they meet the EPG Enga Mioks this weekend.

Both the Tigers and Mioks stumbled to defeats last week in the Digicel Cup rugby league competition.

Despite losing 24-6 in Kokopo to defending champions the Agmark Rabaul Gurias, the hosts still have a proud record this season at the Lae rugby league ground and a loss will be their first at home for the year.

Likewise, the Mioks are claiming the same ground as their second home venue as many of their players played their club matches there and their army of Engan supporters in the second city are expected to turn out in numbers on Sunday.

Tigers coach Stanley Tepend said they would improve in their weak areas, especially how to counter the aggressive Mioks.

“It was pretty disappointing in Kokopo last weekend but it showed where we were lacking,” Tepend said.

“We understand the Mioks will come harder but we will pick up from last week.”

Mioks coach Timothy Lepa said: “Hopefully our young boys in camp will stand up, we will deal with a very young side but it’s good for the team.
