THE Lae Tigers remain unbeaten leaders in the Digicel Cup after round nine.
The former champions started the season with eight wins and a draw to lead the 12-team competition with 17 points, one ahead of their closest rivals Rabaul Gurias.
These two teams have set a commanding from the other 10 teams and it will be interesting after the end of round 11 heading towards the final rounds before the playoffs in August.
Trailing the top two are Waghi Tumbe (13), Goroka Lahanis (10), Gulf Isou (10), Mt Hagen Eagles (9), Hela Wigmen (8), Mendi Muruks (6), Port Moresby Vipers (6), Central Dabaris (6), Enga Mioks (5) and Kimbe Cutters (2).
This weekend in round 10 in Wabag, Tigers face off with home side Mioks, which should be an interesting tussle.
The Tigers, with the experience of key players such as former PNG Hunters flyer Joe Joshua, will be looking to get the win an maintain their position on the ladder.
The Gurias take the road trip to meet Tumbe in Minj, which will also be another tough match.
Port Moresby resident will see the double-header between the Dabaris and Vipers, and the Wigmen versus Lahanis.
The local derby between the Dabaris and Vipers will be an interesting one as it is predicted to showcase fast and clean football.
Away in Mendi, the Muruks hosts the Eagles in a confrontation between two Highlands sides.
In Kimbe, the Cutters take on Isou, with the Gulf franchise expected to snatch the two competition points.
