THE Lae Snax Tigers crushed the Mt Hagen Wamp Nga Eagles 44–8 yesterday at the Rebiamul oval, in Mt Hagen, in round 10 of the Digicel Cup rugby league competition.

This was the second loss the Eagles suffered on home ground after earlier going down to the Stop N Shop Port Moresby Vipers.

The Eagles lead 8-6 in the first half, with five–eighth James Mininga scoring a try that was converted by Ham Tee.

Tee added another two points from a penalty.

Tiger Joe Kingal did not like the Eagles holding them scoreless and lead the revival by scoring a try for Noel Joel to convert as they trailed by two points at the break.

In the second half, the Tigers pounced, scoring six unanswered tries.

A perfect game plan by the Tigers saw them easily crushing the ‘Kanges’ on their home ground.

The Tigers second half tries came from Joe Kingal (two), with Richard Reto, Robert Buwai, Kemi Yol and Wellington Albert bagging the others. The Tigers scored an unconverted try after the fulltime siren to complete the rout.

Eagles captain Jason Tali, Tee, and Benny Pamunda shone in a beaten side.
