THE statement by PNG fire chief that heavy traffic hinders rescue missions must not go unchallenged.
For a long time now, we have read, seen and heard of the lack of services from PNG Fire Service.
Every time there is a fire reported, we hear of trucks arriving late, with tanks half full and having to go back some 5km to refill and now it blames traffic congestion.
This clearly shows that the fire chief lacks the initiative to address issues within his department.
Properties and lives have been lost and yet he has made no progress in improving services.
Please stop giving excuses and come up with some solutions to address these on-going problems.
