Time for payback

IT is payback time as the Telikom National Soccer League (NSL) starts its second round this weekend.
In Lae, in-form Lae FC would want to erase the embarrassment of a 4-0 drubbing in the opening round, and will not allow Morobe United to have free rein on Saturday at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
Lae coach Peter Gunemba hinted earlier in the week that he needed an extra striker to support Clement Peka and Tommy Semmy of Besta would be that man.
However, Semmy confirmed that he was not moving until the end of the season.
Morobe buoyed by their 2-2 draw against reigning champions Hekari United last week, would want to repeat that performance here – and if they do they should win comfortably.
The winner of this match has the bonus of being outright second on the ladder behind Hekari.
In Port Moresby, Hekari will use the Eastern Star FC match as the last hit out before their departure to Fiji for the Oceania Football Confederation’s Champions League in Ba.
Both teams drew in the opening match 1-1.
However, it will be a different ball game now with the Reds intent on gaining some momentum before the Champions League.
Hekari will be counting on Nicholas Muri, Raymond Gunemba, Tuimasi Manuca to score more goals.
Eastern Star came from their first win off the season (2-1 over Lae) and have nothing to lose against Jerry Allen’s men.
Patrick Aisa, Basil Jofari, Rodney Mobiha and Junior Sasu will certainly lift to inspire Stars against the Reds.
In the other match, Admiralty, who went down to Besta last week in Lae are sure to bounce back when they take on Oro at the PNGIPA Oval.
Oro are well-rested coming off the bye and are expected to tame the young guns.
