Time for PM to call it a day

Letters, Normal

LIKE most Papua New Guinean, I have great respect for what Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare has done for this country as a politician.
However, we cannot allow him to run this country like his family business, with no respect for our Constitution.
He has allowed too many foreigners to plunder the natural resources of this country and making us spectators.
The PM has swept too many things under the carpet and this cannot go on.
Millions of kina have been wasted on commission of inquiries with no returns or actions taken as recommended.
The government cannot continue to bulldoze its way in Parliament, amending the Constitution to serve its interests or giving the green light to multi-million kina resource projects without proper impact assessments on the environment.
As such, as leader of the government, the prime minister must resign to safeguard the honour and integrity of his office.
