Time to get rid of useless leaders

Letters, Normal

PLEASE allow me space to air my views on issues affecting the silent majority in Lae.
Every day, mothers and sisters fall victims to bag snatchers in the city, which is becoming more frequent now at the corner of Boundary and Huon roads some 10m from Morobe Governor Luther Wenge’s house on Taun Street.
Other hot spots are the Eriku bus stop, town bus stop, Bumbu Bridge and the University bus stop.
Motorists are held up at Kapiak Street when slowing down to avoid potholes.
Potholes have become the trademark of Lae city.
How can our leaders see potholes and, in some instances, craters, settlements, ethnic clashes, and petty crimes if they continue to fly by helicopters to and from their houses?
The plight of our police force and the cries of the people are completely ignored.
With the mining boom and increasing economic activities in Lae, the city is no longer safe to live and work.
There is no law and order, and police find it difficult to function with limited resources.
Where are the two vocal leaders of Morobe – Luther Wenge and Bart Philemon?
Don’t they feel ashamed of the current state of the city?
Why have all Morobean leaders remained silent over these issues that are affecting the common people?
These leaders spend all of their time talking about issues which have no concern to the people of Lae and Morobe.
Enough is enough.
I call on the people of Lae and Morobe to reject these so-called leaders.
It seems they have run out of ideas to make changes in the city.
