GRADE Five students at The International School of Lae were given a rundown of police work last Thursday.
The students were asked by their class teacher, Pwalakabliliya Kaluvalu, to identify problems that hindered the police to carry out their duties.
The class then invited Morobe province’s community policing boss Senior Insp Joseph Noah and Sgt Peter Gorek.
During their session, the pupils asked many questions, including: When it was appropriate to call someone a suspect or prisoner?
Mr Kaluvalu said such police presentations helped his students know police functions better.
Snr Insp Noah said that having police roles and responsibilities explained to the students would, in the long run, make students law-abiding citizens.
