SERVICE delivery in Kokopo will be priority among Hereman ToBaining Jr’s thing-to-do list when he enters Parliament.
The newly-elected MP fills the seat left vacant by the late Oscar Tammur earlier this year.
ToBaining is the son of Hereman ToBaining senior, a former prominent leader of East New Britain.
He was declared on Saturday night.
Addressing his supporters and the crowd at Vunapope Catholic Hall, East New Britain, ToBaining said he was thankful to God for his victory after being faced with great challenges during polling and counting.
“As of today, I am the mandated leader for Kokopo in the next five years and I thank the late Tammur and his father and other pioneer politicians in this province like Sir Rabbie Namaliu for their advice,” he said.
He saluted his father’s guidance and said he would do his best to help deliver service to the people of Kokopo.
“As your new leader, I must say it will not be easy and I will need all of us to work together. I am humbled by this victory and assure the people of Kokopo that I will hold this office with integrity.”
