Tolukuma halts operations

 TOLUKUMA Gold Mine (TGM) chief executive Sam Inguba said a mine worker assaulted acting mine manager Dominic Walegere.

Inguba said this after visiting the mine site last Friday.

The incident prompted the withdrawal of Walegere from the mine site on personal safety issue.

Inguba said “the mine is currently not under supervision of an authorised officer and mining operations have been temporarily suspended”.

He confirmed that the matter has been reported to the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) and the Chief Inspector of Mines.
