THE sky is the limit for female taekwondo champion Theresa Tona as she sets her sights on winning a medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Tona humbly told a press conference in Port Moresby yesterday after she was announced as Digicel 3rd brand ambassador that she was aiming for gold.
“I’m aiming to do better and hoping to win gold but a bronze would do,” Tona said.
Tona ranked 14th  made her Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but missed out on winning a medal in her 49kg class division.
She lost to her Vietnamese opponent Tran Truc who went on to win bronze.
But her determination saw her qualify for her second Olympics after winning gold in the Oceania Olympic qualifier this year.
She will be the only competitor representing PNG in the sport of taekwondo at the London Olympics which will be held from July 27 to Aug 12 next year.
But the 20-year-old admitted she would face very strong challenges from her international opponents.
Tona said as part of her build-up preparations towards the 2012 Olympic Games in London she would attend two international tournaments, the German Open and Vietnam Open.
