Tongamp welcomes court decision

JIWAKA Governor Dr William Tongamp has welcomed a National Court decision dismissing an election petition filed against him by losing candidate Simon Kaiwe.
The petition was dismissed by Judge Collin Makail.
Tongamp said in Port Moresby he was relieved that the case was over and thanked the people for their patience.
He called on Kaiwe and his
supporters to accept the court decision.
“There’s not much to say, but we should now move on from here. We remain focused on what we need to provide for our province.
“I need to continue with setting up our administration, and developing infrastructure, education and health in the province.”
His lawyer Michael Kuma of Kuma Lawyers said before the trial there were quite a number of allegations of errors and omissions, illegal practices, and bribery.
