MINISTER for Community Development, Youth and Religion Loujaya Toni has reaffirmed her working relationship with her departmental head, Anna Solomon.

She made the commitment when officiating at the gathering of the Ahi council of women last Friday at Malahang in Lae.

Toni was accompanied to the event by acting Secretary Solomon, National Council of Women president Schola Kakas and the executive director of the office for development of women, Gail Tatsi.

The Lae MP introduced her team to more than 100 women members of the Ahi council of women and their families.

“At such occasion you have the opportunity to see the strength of the office of community development, they feel the same pain as you feel,” she said.

Toni hailed Solomon for her commitment to the department.

“This woman is a very strong woman. My job as the minister is to make laws at the floor of parliament or table reports at the national executive council but there are people in the office who meet important people and our partners in community development, and the first stop will be with this important lady,” she said.

Toni also pointed the important role of Tatsi’s office in taking care of funding documents and their break up and Kakas role as head of all women’s group around the country leading in pointing out women’s issues and needs.

That public appearance of Toni and Solomon together was the first in Lae since the MP’s election last year.
