Too many fees confusing

Letters

MY son is a Grade 10 student at Laloki Secondary School in Central.
Last year, I paid K990 as school fee.
I filled in two forms – student space seeking form and student registration form as I searched for space in the school for him.
I paid K1,000 to the deputy principal for accepting my son.
On June 4, I was advised by the teacher in charge, to pay an additional K300 on top of the K583 (which is this year’s fee) for a total of K983.
No additional payment – no certificate for my son at the end of the year.
I am concerned and confused.

  • Is that K1000 acceptance fee, regulated under the Board of management approval, or just paid him a service fee for acceptance cause the the deputy saved your time going from school to school looking for space…
If you did with helping heart is ok,otherwise if he requested , then is a issue…

    • Joe, apart from the usual school fee, that K1000.00 paid to the deputy principal could be the newly introduced fee called “The Corruption Fee”. There is no receipts given or required for this fee if he requested for it for securing the space.
