THE race for the minor premiership for the Port Moresby men’s softball competition will be a three-way battle between the top three teams.

Top three Gazelle, United Brothers and Yokomo will stake their claim in the remaining two matches.

Currently, Gazelle are leading the competition with 29 points, and are closely followed by United Brothers on 28 points while Yokomo are two points further down with 26 points.

Brown Eagles have a game and a bye which rules them out of the contention.

Brothers will play Kopex and then play Yokomo for the decider while Yokomo will take on Mantarays which are likely to be given on a golden plate with a forfeit.

The Brethren shot to second spot after winning all their three games including an outstanding one against the Wolves 6-4 on Saturday.

They beat Defence 12-3 on the same day while on Sunday, they sent champions PNG Power packing for the season with a brilliant 7-2 win.

Veteran Dick Bart urged his players not to be carried away with three wins as they race is not over yet.

They will be focusing on the two remaining games to ensure they win the minor premiership.

The clash against Yokomo should be a sneak preview of the 2014 grand final.
