Top-of-the-table clash in city volleyball

IT will be a top-of-the-table clash when Scorpions meet Ela Motors in the women’s premier division of  the NCD Volleyball Association at Taurama Indoor and Aquatic Centre on Saturday.
Last year’s grand finalist Scorpions have won all their games so far and on nine points are setting the pace of the competition.
Ela Motors are tied on seven points with MJ Electrical U-Mi Yet and Strive Stars, who are in second place due to better percentage. The automobile dealers side is one of the teams to watch out for this season, after they recruited PNG representative players Emily Bae and Hitolo Raka
The duo are looking good and have led the team to win two-from-three games.
Pace-setters Scorpions have PNG representative players Micelle Walo and Isa Hicks, who are expected to lead the defence in centre court and punish in counter-attack. Scorpions have Ruga Aisi, Jane Gima, Kalia Alu and Helen Walo to complete the lineup.
The team with better coordination in defence and offence will take the three points. Fixtures: Women’s – Vailama v One-Six Pawa, U-Mi Yet v Jamas, Strive Stars v Vanama, Tlikom v Laudanu; Men’s – Scorpions v Ela Motors, U-Mi yet v Jamas, Laudanu v Telikom, Strive Stars v Vanama, Vailima v One-Six Pawa.
