ESCO Telstars meet top rivals Snax Mermaids tomorrow in the Port Moresby Netball Associations (POMNA) premier division match of the round at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts.

Telstars’ Kimberly Alex and Philomena Naime are two youngsters on the rise and will need to be watched closely .

Meanwhile, Mermaids are the form team of the competition and come into the match as favourites.

Playmaker Richandah Kassman will direct play from centre court with Rachel Kapi at wing defence and Kila Leka at wing attack.

Mermaids’ defence will be tested by veteran shooter Gamini Koroka who will be assisted by  Kapu Kapi and Tau Galewa.

Mermaids shooting duo in Marypaul Buelher and Kapa Malia will have to account for Telstars’ smart defenders Raka Nope and Julienne Diro.

Brisbane-based international Rayleen Andrew’s inclusion in the Mermaids is a bonus to an already strong line-up.

Meanwhile, in another tough match, Global Construction Aroma Coast will take on the Digicel Sparrows. Aroma’s Cathy Herea and Jennifer Rigolo are expected to lead the charge for the women in black.

Defender Herea, who is part of the Under-21 national squad is known for her elevation and her agility but will be up against Sparrows shooters Jacklyn Lahari and fellow national U21 teammate Jephat Tulapi.

The other premier match sees he City Pharmacy Rebels and Monier Paramana clash in the last game of the day.

Rebels have Lua Rikis, Kila Rawali, Kalyna Taule and Marinama Maha and this should be enough to take down Paramana on court one.
