THE three top teams in the Telikom National Soccer League posted impressive wins to maintain their spots heading into the festive season.
Reigning champions Hekari United continued their brilliant run with a 5-0 routing of NBS Tukoko University on Saturday.
In the other matches, City Pharmacy Eastern Stars edged Morobe Mining Joint Venture Bulolo FC 2-1 and Besta (PNG) United belted premiership pretenders Gigira Laitepo Central Coast 3-1.
In Port Moresby,  Besta United marched onto the paddock to prove a point – the win against Hekari United was not a fluke – and emerged with a 3-1 victory over home side at the Bisini Oval.
The game started off at a fast pace with both Besta United and Central Coast trying to make breaks to score.
But it was the visitors who had the upperhand when Sammy Hiob scored the first goal of the game in the 5th minute.
The lead was short-lived when Central Coast striker Tau Winnie replied to force the scores at 1-1.
Besta scored their second goal through Max Sengum who put them 2-1 in front going into the break.
At the resumption, no goals were scored until  the 62nd minute when lanky Besta striker Vincent Rario beat Ila Ilatia Jr to blast home at close range.
Central Coast’s duo of Winnie and Reginald Davani had exceptional games bit their midfield failed to provide the necessary support.
