ToRobert ‘a man of integrity’

Ezzard ToRobert has described his father, the late Sir Henry ToRobert, as a man of “integrity, discipline, decency and honour”.
“These are the qualities that my father not only held high but practiced,” he said at the funeral service of Sir Henry at Sione Kami Memorial Church in Port Moresby yesterday.
“I am immensely proud to say that my dad was the first Papua New Guinean to graduate with an economics degree from an Australian University.
“My dad was a highly-respectable person and a true nation-builder.
“He devoted his life to God and made philanthropic donations which he didn’t want to be recognised.
“His major donation was funding a church building in his home village, Romale, in Kokopo, East New Britain.”
Sir Henry died on Oct 18, four days before his 76th birthday.
His funeral service was held yesterday was attended by friends, family and the staff of the Bank of PNG.
Sir Michael Somare, Sir Mekere Morauta, Sir John Dawanicura, Sir John Kaputin and other dignitaries were there to farewell Sir Henry.
