Toropo: I desire to bring the force closer to God

 THE Papua New Guinea Defence Force, under commander Brig-Gen Gilbert Toropo, held a spiritual outreach last week committing the force to God.

The outreach was attended by Minister for Religion, Youth and Community Development Loujaya Kouza, department secretary Anna Solomon, defence secretary John Porti, officers and their family members.

“It is my desire and commitment to bring the PNG Defence Force closer to God,” Toropo said.

Toropo said God was the key for the PNGDF’s progress and this would enable the force to regain the trust and confidence from the public and the Government.

Toropo said the defence force white paper had set this theme.

Porti said Toropo was moving in the right direction for the army and  the sake of national security.

He vowed to support Toropo in his plans to improve the operation of the army.
