EAST Sepik provincial administrator Samson Torovi has appealed to election candidates in the province to accept the election results with dignity.
Speaking at the declaration of East Sepik’s youngest candidate Ezekiel Anisi, 26, Torovi said people had spoken through the secret ballot and everyone should accept the decision reached by the majority.
He said candidates should put aside their political differences and work with elected members to help deliver services that were lacking in their districts.
“We have no time to waste because we are behind in service delivery. We should accept the results and work together unless there is serious foul play,” Torovi said.
He appealed to the winning candidates to use the provincial and district administration as tools to deliver services.
A total of 165 candidates for the six open and provincial seats contested in the election.
