Total of 365 prison officers set for Apec duties

A TOTAL of 365 prison officers have been released to help provide security duties along with police and soldiers during the Apec Leaders’ Summit.
PNG Correctional Services (PNGCS) held a parade for the contingent to signify their preparations at Bomana outside Port Moresby.
They will provide security at Sogeri Road, Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) site, Papa, Lealea, hotels and airports.
The officers have been training , said CS deputy chief operations officer Dennis Piandi.
He said 133 officers were brought in from Kerevat, Kavieng, Manus, Beikut, Biru and Giligili, and 232 were selected from Bomana and police headquarters.
