Touch competition to start season at Nomads oval

THE National Capital District Touch confirmed 12 open teams for the season.
The revived competition, under president Api Ravu and her vice Augustine Aisi has attracted more than 200 youths and their parents to the Nomads Oval near the Port Moresby Country Club.
Divisions include the female and male teams in the juniors between nine and 18 years; the open division and the senior and the masters (40+).
Ravu said the senior and masters division was only for employees of registered private and public company teams which are Telikom, Eda Ranu, Department of Labour and Industrial Relations (DLIR), G4S, Works Department and Ela Motors.
Teams are allowed 30 minutes per match and the competition starts at 9 am and finishes 4pm only on Sundays.
After several weeks of the preseason competition open teams proving to be contenders for the title are the PX Jets, PNG Air Services, Maba West and Tokarara.
Other teams are Ensisi Dragons, Telikom, Dorido Broncos, Dusty Cowboys, Games Pythons, Kenesi Blacks, National Development Bank and Propest.
Ravu said the response from the players and officials has been good but urged everyone to cooperate for the good of the sport.
