 TOUCH Football Papua New Guinea (TFPNG) has announced its men’s and women’s senior division training squads in preparation for the touch football world cup.

The touch football world cup is slated for Coffs Harbour in 2015.

TFPNG secretary general Sesevi Lae said the squads were selected following the recent national championships in Madang.

Lae said the coach for the men’s team was Ari Peter, while the women’s coach would be confirmed later.

He said the selection would be revised and confirmed following the national championship that will be held in Port Moresby during the 2014 Easter Weekend.

The team will attend the Australian National Touch League tournament at Coffs Harbour next year in March as its first lead-up event to the world cup.

The men’s squad: Jack John, Sidney Peter, Marita John, Norman Stevens, Hari Peter, Melly Tarangau, Kea Kevi, Benjamin Matmilo, Wekas Tomis, Benny Nelson, Joe Baroe, Buddy Mitau, James David, Jeffery Osia, Robin Talen, Greg Theodore, David Solomon and Steven Illam.

The women’s squad: Daisy Meksie, Maisen Tara, Maria Arisa, Miembi Margaret, Sila Gula, Alice Kakamara, Jenny Digmai, Margaret Gorogoro, Alice Theodore, LitaOli, Mary Maron, Emma Tela, Madlyn Poo, Margaret Kapa, Kylie Lae, Norah Kagi.
