A LOCALLY-OWNED trade store at 3-Mile outside Lae, Morobe, has partnered with nasfund contributors savings and loans (ncsl) to offer electronic funds transfer at point of sale (Eftpos) service to its customers.
According to ncsl, Buluco Trading is the first in the miles area to install an Eftpos service, which can also accept bank cards from Kina Bank, Westpac, People’s Micro Bank, MiBank and Bank South Pacific apart from the ncsl Poro card.
Store owner Peter Benny, from Buang in Bulolo, said this service was highly demanded since he opened the store 18 months ago.
He noted the establishment of government departments, a school, a clinic, police station and the Department of Primary Industry (DPI) in the community.
“This location is central and we get more customers here and people kept asking me for Eftpos,” he said.
Benny’s store is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) initiative partnership with the Super Value Store (SVS) Lae and BSP.
“I wanted an Eftpos available, because I’ve got a lot of customers,” he said.
“So when ncsl approached, I took the offer and I’m proud to be the first service provider here.”
