Training center aims to enhance rehabilitation

A CENTRE is working with the Buimo jail in Morobe to help inmates with life skills training such as carpentry.
The Anuya Youth Training Centre established in Lae two years ago aims to help in the rehabilitation process of the prisoners.
Willie Mayang from the centre said significant changes were noticed since the programme started in 2017.
Mayang said the change was evident through behavioural changes.
“We decided to work with Buimo prison as most young men ended up behind bars because they lack knowledge and skills,” he said.
He thanked Lae Ever Clean and Finschhafen district development authority for funding support towards this worthy course.
