Training helps sales reps improve customer service

THE Coca-Cola Euro Pacific Partners-Papua New Guinea has trained more than 20 sales representatives in Port Moresby on improved customer service.
Head of people and culture, Tim Solly, said 23 sales representatives had passed the sales academy training programme to boost the softdrink company’s sales and marketing sector.
“We are building their technical and soft skills to accelerate them in the sales and marketing and other functions to build the commercial capability within the organisation,” Solly said.
He said the training modules in the programme were on product knowledge, knowing your customers, channel and segments and profit story.
The course covered elevator pitch, negotiation skills and relationship management.
The company, formerly known as Coca-Cala Amital PNG, provided training to developed and equip sales force with the knowledge and skills required to perform the job effectively.
Solly said the organisation trained sales representatives throughout the country to boost its sales and marketing sector.
He said the programme was also rolled out in Mt Hagen for the Highlands; for New Guinea Islands in Kokopo; and, Lae for Mamose.
Solly said the organisation provided training for the sales business representatives and high potential merchandisers to build capabilities in their core function in sales and marketing.
“The sales academy programme was launched last November 15, as a training intervention for sales trainees to deal with customers and to build the product knowledge,” he said.
Solly said the training was rolled out in the country through the sales academy for the agents to have business commercial conversation and understand customer needs.
