TRAVEL Air Mangi Lo Ples will sell airline tickets for K350 regardless of where people are flying from Port Moresby, owner Eremas Wartoto announced during the aircraft’s inaugural flight to Girua airport, Popondetta, yesterday.

He said management of Travel Air wanted to change some old practices prevailing in the local airline industry.

“We are looking at selling tickets for K350.

“For instance, if you’re travelling from Port Moresby to other centres, we want to make sure people get their tickets for only K350 regardless of where they are going to.”

Wartoto said Travel Air intends to carry this out before the year ended.

“Domestic airfares should be made as affordable as possible to the people and that is what the airline industry in the country should really look into.”

Travel Air would now be making flights available to Popondetta from Port Moresby and those from other centres travelling to Popondetta would be transitting through Port Moresby.

The Fokker 50 aircraft with 50 seats would be making weekly flights to Popondetta every Tuesday and Thursday.

Wartoto said they are looking to operate in more destinations .such as Bougainville, Kiunga, Manus and Daru.
