Treat people according to law

Letters

LAW enforcers continue to use violence and extort money from street vendors who sell betel nut and cigarettes.
We have witnessed cases of street vendors losing lives.
While the National Capital District Commission has the authority to regulate street vending, people violating city laws should be treated in accordance with the law.
They should not be subject to cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment, arbitrary detention, and other human rights violation.
As it is obvious, laws restricting street vending disproportionately affect women and girls, who already face discrimination in other areas of employment.
God created us equal. Have some sense of respect for human lives.
