Trial for allegedly drinking in moving car

 TWO men have been committed to stand trial in the National Court on a charge of consuming alcohol in a moving vehicle.

Paki Repo, 25, and Job Irenea, 23, are from Kagua district, in Southern Highlands. 

They appeared at the Boroko District court yesterday and denied the charge read to them by Magistrate Tracey Ganai.

Ganai adjourned the matter to August 10 for trial. 

It was alleged that on July 2 at Sabama in Port Moresby, the two were inside a moving vehicle which was stopped by police.

The police found alcohol in their possession.

It was alleged that Repo and Irenea were with two other men, Tim Kay and Tony Gori.

Kay, 36, from Wake village in Kagua district, and Gori, 25, from Joite village, Asaro district, in Eastern Highlands, were absent when the case was called yesterday.
