THE trial of a man facing fraud-related charges for over K90,000 will continue after the Waigani National Court refused his no case to answer submission.

Justice Bernard Sakora yesterday ruled that upon applying the appropriate principles, the accused, Andrew Salatum, had a case to answer.

Sakora ordered the trial to continue.

The trial had started last Friday when the State prosecution presented the indictment charging Salatum for misappropriation.

State prosecution allege that Salatum, in 2012, dishonestly applied K93,700 to his own the property of Coca Cola PNG Ltd.

The prosecution alleged that there were three cheque payments totalling K238,544 belonging to Coca Cola that were mistakenly paid into Salatum’s Bank South Pacific business account.

In withdrawing funds from the account, Salatum had breached an Act of honesty, the prosecution alleged.

Four witnesses were called to give evidence in support of the charge.
