Triathlon season to start with festival

 PAPUA New Guinea Triathlon Association would kick start its 2011 calendar with a triathlon family festival at Ela Beach in Port Moresby tomorrow.

The triathlon involves individuals, team and childrens’ event in junior division (7-10 years old) and the senior divisions (11-15 years old).

According to UpSouth Events, the individual events consisted of 750 swim, 20km cycling and 5km run which also goes to the team event.

In the children’s event, the junior division would take part in 70m swim, 3 laps and 500m run while in the senior division, 140m swim, 6 laps and 1km run.

Steven Damien of Upsouth Event management said the registration is open until the race starts tomorrow at Ela Beach. The starting time is 6am.
