ONTRACK Tribes edged Datafix 7-6 in extra time in the Corporate Touch Port Moresby open men’s division major semifinal at the Murray Barracks oval last Sunday.
The major semifinal was a tight contest from the opening whistle but save for two defensive lapses in the second half which allowed Tribes to equalise and get ahead.
Datafix led 3-2 at halftime.
Tribes with its control and patience coordinated by international Eugene Eka, Paul Kasisi were up against former team mates Wana Saea and Samuel Vetu.
It went down to the wire when Tribes leveled the scores 3-3 and had gone one up to lead 4-3 before opposition equalised.
With the game in the balance Datafix’s execution let them down with incomplete sets giving Tribes more attacking opportunities.
