Trio in capital to gather info

 A THREE-man delegation from New Caledonia’s Olympic Committee is in the country to meet with the Games Organising Committee, the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee and other stakeholders as they prepare for the 2015 Pacific Games.

The team led by secretary-general and chef de mission of Team New Caledonia Christophe Dabin along with Paul Antoine Grangeon and Michel Quintin is in the country as an advance party to prepare logistics and gather information required to assist them prepare for the Games next year.

The team will have meetings to arrange for charters, transportation and organise other logistical support for Team New Caledonia.

Games Organising Committee’s chief executive officer Peter Stewart said New Caledonia was the first country to send its advance team in preparation for next year’s Games.

“We are glad to have New Caledonia’s advance team come this early to prepare for their team’s participation in the 2015 Games,” Stewart said. 

“Having an advance party from a participating country come to Port Moresby to see for themselves the preparations is welcoming and demonstrates the enthusiasm, drive and the momentum that New Caledonia has in preparing for next year’s Games. 

“Port Moresby will be centre stage for one of the region’s greatest sporting event and I am certain New Caledonia will gather all the required information their team needs to participate in the Games next year.”

The delegation will be in Port Moresby for a week.
