QUICK action by a group of soldiers in Chimbu saved the lives of passengers trapped in the back of a over-turned truck.
The incident happened at Wara Chimbu near Kundiawa town at 9.30am yesterday.
Igam barracks–based Private Romoke Wanded who was one of the soldiers, said the rescued passengers included a baby and mother. There were no
major casualties.
He said the truck could not reach the top of the Prinorkwa hill and went backwards before over-turning.
“Most of the passengers were trapped under the steel frame of the trailer but we managed to free them quickly,” he said.
The driver and cabin crews reportedly sustained minor injuries
The truck was heading to Kundiawa town.
