“Obviously, the people (from Kadovar Island) cannot get food from their gardens. They cannot even fish. Water is affected.”
On Saturday, the final food and water supplies were delivered to Ruprup Island which accommodated the Kadovar people. All water sources on Ruprup Island on Saturday had turned yellowish. Bird who visited Ruprup on Saturday said the remaining relief supplies would be sent to the relocation site called Dandan in the Turubu local-level government area of Wewak.
Meanwhile, the National Capital District Commission has set up an East Sepik Relief Appeal Centre to support the disaster relief efforts for Kadovar, Ruprup and Biem islands in East Sepik.

Any individual or businesshouse willing to help is urged to call into City Hall to make a donation.
Governor Powes Parkop and city manager Leslie Alu announced the relief efforts of the commission yesterday.
