TRUKAI Industries Ltd has named chef Julz Henao as its new brand ambassador.
Marketing manager Maryanne Tom said the company was happy to be associated with one of PNG’s premier chefs.
“Chef Julz is passionate about healthy nutritious food as is Trukai Industries who have manufactured high quality and vitamin-enriched rice for over 50 years,” Tom said.
Henao has worked in restaurants in Hong Kong, Sydney, London and Port Moresby.
He owns The Healthy Food Company.
“I’m a massive advocate for supporting local and supporting business houses that actually support local produce as well and push that message,” Henao said.
“The decision to collaborate with Trukai was an easy one for me.
“Trukai has been a big brand for as long as I can remember.
“So I’m really fortunate, grateful and blessed to have this opportunity and really looking forward to this year.
“We will be using Trukai in our recipes to promote local as well.
“We have some cool stuf coming up this year as well so really looking forward to this relationship. I’ll be cooking suing Trukai matching that with our ethos which is using local produce as much as possible.
“Trukai rice is eaten in households and they have a lot of different markets in PNG, a lot of demographic.
“As a chef, is important to use an ingredient that everyone relates to.
“Throughout this year we will cook with Trukai and promote it as a brand that I trust and would like to use as well.”
