TRUKAI Industries Limited will face Cardno Lions in the Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association Cup final at the Bisini Diamonds tomorrow.
The corporate competition will also host the Plate, Shield and Bowl finals.
Trukai captain Lorraine Pagal told The National that they were anticipating a strong challenge from Lions. “We are excited to be in the final, but this is not our first time,” she said.
“We went reached the 2019 final and PWC and lost to them by one point.
“This time, we are optimistic about winning the final.”
Trukai lost to Lions in the regular season, but Pagal said they would focus on avoiding the same result tomorrow.
She said their preparations had gone well this week. “Our team is taking it one day at a time,” Pagal said.
“But we are ready for the match.
“We are focusing more on our fielding and double-play strategies.”
Trukai beat Swire Shipping Vikings last weekend to book their grand final spot.
The team are boosted by the experience of Kevin Passingan and others. “The season has been fun so far,” Pagal said ahead of the finals.
“Most of our players are new to the sport, but we are excited that we have come this far.”
Meanwhile, in other finals matches, Santos Blue Kumuls will face Nasfund One in the Shield final and Water PNG will meet PNG Power for the Shield.
The battle for the Plate will be between Nasfund Two and NAC Jets at the Bisini Diamonds.
