ALIGNING the priorities of all Bougainville MPs and the Autonomous Bougainville Government is a goal of newly elected regional member Peter Tsiamalili Jr says.
Tsiamalili told The National that over the next couple of months, he would be concentrating on getting data from around the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Arob) so that his plan would be more responsible.
Tsiamalili said he had established a strong relationship with President Ishmael Toroama and would echo the sentiments and aspirations of the ABG. “Between the two of us, we have established a cordial relationship and what the national leaders are doing can be a lot more aligned to what the ABG wishes to achieve on the ground,” he said. “Because they are the Government on the ground, we will ensure that there is a lot more alignment with our national leaders and our ABG Government.”
Tsiamalili said part of his responsibility was to solicit the support of the open members – North, Central and South – so they were all on the same plan in terms of service delivery and development.
He said it had been an exciting and challenging last seven months, but he was looking forward to another 12 months.
“2022 is round the corner, if I do it right now, I’m sure I will give the confidence back to the people.”
